You're like a drug. And I'm the addict. With you, I'm on such a high and everything seems perfect. But the moment you go away, I crash and feel like crap. Every second you're away, I'm in so much pain and having you around is my only painkiller. As much as I'd like to quit, just one look, just one touch, just one word and I'm right back where I started. The question is... do I love myself enough to let you go? My Angel: One Shot Rosalie/Emmett Fic

Title: My Angel

Rating: PG (I guess...)
Summary: Rosalie tries to escape from Edward's annoying gift and she comes across Emmett mortally wounded by a bear attack. Told in Rosalie's POV.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters. Fic is unbeta-ed too so... read at your own risk. lmao.

The echoing notes of Edward’s latest composition drifted through the dense trees in the forest of their home and into my ears far too distant for a normal human to hear. I wasn’t a normal human, of course. I wasn’t even human which meant I could still hear Edward playing on his grand piano. The melody, oddly enough, soothed me. His playing reminded me so much of Rochester and of the grand parties my parents forced me to go to (not that I needed much forcing)… to the time before my beauty became my downfall, to the time when I was blissfully unaware of the hollowness that haunted my now still heart.

My thoughts drifted as Edward continued to play for Carlisle and Esme. My family, my home… I thought as I stood still between two large trees. The blonde curls of my hair bobbed as I shook my head at the onslaught of emotions that raged through my body at the thought of a home, a home that I would never have, a home that was robbed from me. No, I did not blame Carlisle for my turning. If anything, I was thankful that he had turned me. If he had left me for dead the way Royce King did, I would not have gotten the revenge I deserved. I wouldn’t have heard the tortured screams of my almost killers as their lives slipped through my slender fingers. Royce King. His name was enough to send a murderous rage searing deep inside me. Even the terrified look on his face when I finally ended his life was not enough to sate the monster that roared inside of me.

Edward’s playing abruptly stopped when he heard where my thoughts were going. He didn’t want to move again that was quite easy to tell. It was much easier to live in the seclusion that the quiet town in Tennessee provided and Edward wasn’t going to give that up because I murdered someone just because I was still bitter at how my perfect life was ruined by one fateful night.

Don’t be stupid, Edward. I don’t want to leave as much as you do. Get out of my head. I was still getting used to the fact that I didn’t have to talk for him to hear me. I heard him resume his playing but my irritation with the invasion of my privacy overrode the calming effect his piece had on me. I had to get away… only momentarily… just to escape Edward’s probing gift. I’m going hunting. I’ll be back later. Don’t follow me. I hissed as I broke off into a run, deeper into the woods.

I ran as fast as my supernatural feet could take me. I flew like a breeze with the leaves at my feet rustling as I ran. Still wearing the white dress I wore earlier, I let myself go to my senses. I could smell the heady scent of the trees around me. I could hear every rustle of the small animals that roamed the forest at night. I could hear the faint hoot of the owl just ahead of me. I continued to run, trying to locate a fitting prey for a thirst that burned my throat.

I staggered to a stop just moments later. Closing my eyes, I inhaled the fragrant scent of blood around me. I knew that scent quite well. Human blood. Fresh human blood, to be exact. I turned away as soon as the burning in my throat began. I took pride in the fact that I had never tasted human blood. I swore to myself that I would never do that, no matter how justified the reason may be. I turned to run back but stopped when I heard the loud growl of the bear. It was closer than I initially thought. My eyes darkened with hunger as I tried to weigh my options. I could go home, unfed and return when the blood has dried and the temptation would be less or I could feed now on the bear. I could still hear the feebly beating heart of the bear’s victim and I wondered if I should dare.

It was a test, I decided. I would test how well I could resist the appeal of human blood. My reward was the bear. My indecision had lasted only a mere second. Once I took that first tentative step towards the bear, I took off at a much slower pace so that I would not alert the bear.

The clearing was not far. I was there in a few graceful leaps. I saw the bear hovering over the motionless figure whose heart slowed as I drew nearer. The bear took notice of me and turned in my direction, roaring angrily. My attention, however, was diverted to the still figure that had deep gashes across his torso. The smell of blood was temporarily forgotten as I ceased breathing.

Dark, curly hair, long lashes, dimpled cheeks… It was yet another reminder of the family I yearned to have but never would. In a flash, I could see myself looking around my friend’s well kept garden as we both watched angelic little Henry squealing happily over something so trivial that I had scoffed at first. I could see him running towards us, his small pudgy hands covered in dirt as he showed his mother his latest discovery. I could almost hear the gleeful laugh as he ran back to the garden.

The memory faded and I watched as the bear raised his arms to swipe once more at the prone body beneath him. The next swipe would be the fatal one but I couldn’t let him die, not him. Without thinking, I ran forward stepping between the bear’s swinging paw and the dying man. I did not feel a thing as his paw scratched against my cheek to no avail. All I could think of was saving him.

The bear was easy enough to take care of. I dove for him, snarling as I went. It tried to scratch me again, snap its powerful jaws at me but my marble skin would not give. My strong hands gripped the bear’s furry face and cracked its neck easily. It toppled over me, nearly crushing me and the man behind me if I had not pushed it away. “Stupid bear,” I growled as I kicked at the bear one last time, satisfied by the sound of the breaking rib.

I inhaled and the sweet scent of blood pervaded my senses once more. I could feel my thirst, burning at the back of my throat. I could taste the venom in my mouth. My perfectly manicured nails dug into my palms as I turned to look at him. He was just as beautiful as I thought. Dazedly, his eyes looked up at me. Astonishingly, he was still conscious, dazed but conscious. He opened his mouth to speak as he reached out towards me. “My angel,” was all I heard.

His words startled me. I knew how I appeared especially now in my white tulle dress… but what he had seen from me in the past minute was enough to frighten any human being. That I was sure of… for this dress looked a lot like the beautiful wedding dress I wore to murder my ex-fiancé. At that instant, I was the bear and Royce was this dark-haired stranger before me. I was no angel. I was far from it. I was a monster… not any different from the bear that caused the deep gashes on his torso. He was the angel.

My thirst forgotten, I tried to think of ways to save him. If I ran back to get Carlisle, we might not reach him in time. I was too far away from Edward for him to hear my thoughts. No, Carlisle wouldn’t reach us in time to save this beautiful human in front of me. He reached for my face, unafraid. He repeated his words but they were much, much weaker. His eyes closed and I began to panic. Even if I carried him all the way to Carlisle, it would be too late to save him. He would make it to the house but by then, he would have lost too much blood to save him from death.

There was another option, one that nagged at the back of my mind as I listened to his labored breathing and erratic heartbeat. Could I rob him of a life that he deserved? Could I sentence him to this lonely eternal life? He would have me, I tried to reason with myself. He’ll have Carlisle and Esme… even Edward. I’ll love him. We will all love him.

My decision was made before I finished the thought. I couldn’t let him die and that meant that he had to become one of us. The scent of his blood was overpowering me. I worried that I wouldn’t be able to do it. If I didn’t have the strength to stop drinking, he would die and it would be my fault. I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t trust myself. Carlisle was the only person I could trust. He would know exactly what to do. But I couldn’t leave the dying man in front of me. I could not bear to think that he would die while I was on my way to get Carlisle.

Desperation hit me as I scooped him up in my arms. He was large, around 6’4” or 6’5” and he was heavy but my determination was much stronger. I ran as fast as my feet could take me. Frustration boiled over at how slow I was going. He was bleeding more profusely now and I cringed at the scent of his blood. His blood stained my dress but I was past caring. His breath was slowing and so was his heart. I was still a couple of miles away but I knew Edward could hear me now.

Edward! Please… help me. Bring Carlisle. I had never begged Edward before but my pride was irrelevant at this moment in time. My angel was dying and Carlisle was the only person who can save him.

I heard them approaching, even Esme had gone along. I could hear Edward grumbling. He had seen my thoughts, my desperation to save this human. He wasn’t happy about it but he was leaving the decision to Carlisle which I was thankful for. When I finally caught a glimpse of them, I dropped onto my knees and laid the curly-haired angel down in front of me. I didn’t need to say anything. Carlisle examined his wounds as Esme pulled me away, my chest heaving in dry sobs despite knowing that the tears would never come. I could see Edward, leaning against a tree watching Carlisle as he feigned indifference. The grim line of Carlisle’s mouth told me that my earlier thoughts were true. There was not enough medical expertise in the world to save this angel before me.

“Carlisle, please…” I said, my voice shaking. Esme smoothed my blond curls away from my face. His blood made it sticky but I hadn’t noticed. Edward and Carlisle both looked at me, studying me. “Please…” I said again and Carlisle nodded his head, looking at Edward. In an unspoken agreement, Edward moved forward to help Carlisle carry the dying man back to the house.

“Wait… I’ll do it.” I said immediately, protective of my angel. Edward and Carlisle shared a look before Edward looked at me and spoke, “We’d reach the house faster if we did it. Trust us.”

The indecision showed in my eyes but I nodded half a second later. Edward and Carlisle carried my angel with them as Esme fell into step beside me. Her touch was comforting but I was past consoling. I fretted over my angel. If he died, I wouldn’t know what I would do.

I hovered over Carlisle as he worked on my angel in the living room. Edward had pushed away all the furniture and replaced it with a hospital bed that Carlisle kept around in case of emergencies. I listened to his heartbeat intently as it slowed. Once the venom hit, it began to beat faster. The wounds on his chest healed but now a different pain etched in his features. I knew that feeling. It was like living a thousand deaths and then some. It pained me to see his innocent features grimacing in pain as he began to scream and howl, thrashing about in the hospital bed. Edward and Carlisle had to tie him down… like it did any help. He was strong even without the supernatural boost. I took his hand and squeezed it tightly in mine, hoping that he could transfer his pain to me. He could only writhe in response but he had relaxed as long as I held his hand in mine.

“You should go and change, Rose.” Esme patted my back after a few hours. I had been sitting with my angel the entire time. I didn’t dare leave his side, not even to change. I was covered in blood but I still didn’t care. “I’ll watch him for now.”

“No,” I mumbled stubbornly. He was still tossing and turning. His voice had gone hoarse from all his screaming. “I’m not leaving.”

And so, I stayed. Three days felt like three decades. His pain was my pain, if not literally, figuratively. Esme worried over me. Carlisle kept watch with me. Edward did not stick around much but he did check on us often. It was also Edward who had gone out to find out more about my angel, Emmett. He was a hunter and he had been separated from his friends when he got into his altercation with the bear. There was an ongoing search for him but Edward and Carlisle had already cleaned up the clearing where I found him.

I didn’t want him to wake without me by his side so I did not leave. Esme brought me a fresh change of clothes and a wet towel to get the blood out of my hair but mostly, I stayed by my angel’s side. I smoothed over the curly hair on his forehead as much as I could, whispering soothing words in his ear whenever the pain seemed to be too much.

The final change happened while Esme and Carlisle were hunting nearby, leaving me and Edward in the house. Edward came in to check on me and we both stopped moving as soon as my angel’s heart finally stopped beating. I gripped the table beside me so tightly that it cracked under the pressure. It seemed forever before my angel’s dark lashes fluttered and opened. His eyes were a dark shade of red but they instantly focused on me.

“Emmett…” I murmured when our eyes finally met. I waited for terror. I waited for him to start screaming at me to ask me what I did to him. But there were none. I breathed a sigh of relief once I saw the acceptance in his eyes.

His hands reached forward, stroking my cheek gently as if checking if I were real. “Well… I must have done one thing right.” He said, his face breaking into a huge grin as he spoke. “Or else God wouldn’t have given me his most beautiful angel.

Breaking Dawn Quote of the Day

Just coz I love making Breaking Dawn predictions and because Stephenie is doing the world a favor with her quote of the day stuff, I'll be doing predictions on all of Stephenie's quotes. When the book comes out, I'll be checking if I got it right.

Quote 1:
Alice: "I'll play you for it. Rock, paper, scissors."
Edward: "Why don't you just tell me who wins?"
Alice: "I do. Excellent."
Prediction: Alice and Edward are trying to make a decision about the wedding. I bet Alice wants something outrageous and frilly while Edward wants something simple and clean cut. They argue about it and can't make up a decision so they opt for rock, paper, scissors which is quite a horrible idea coz it would be like when they play chess.

Will add the rest in this post when it comes out. Aahhh... so excited. rofl.

Quote 2:
Bella: “Oh, Mike! How will I go on?"
Prediction: Edward dies right after he turns Bella, killed by Jacob... so Bella turns to her only normal suitor, pretending to be devastated by her loss but really looking for a snack. lolz. Just kidding. That's a stupid way to end the book. I'm assuming she's being sarcastic because Bella's always treated Mike like a friend but she's always wary of telling him about her feelings coz he might get the wrong idea and he'll get his hopes up so she'll never say something like this to Mike without being sarcastic on some level.

Quote 3:
Tanya: "Ah, Edward. I've missed you."
Prediction: Whoever invited Tanya and the rest of the Denali coven just made a big mistake... Tanya does show up which will make Lauren and Jessica seem like amateurs. I can already see Bella whining and groaning about this. Edward's going to be amused I think... but not if and when Tanya tries to harm Bella. I do think the Denali vampires will do something about the werewolves. I'm also sensing a Tanya and Leah bitch off. The bigger bitch gets to kill Bella who they both hate. lmao. I'm kidding about the last part but who knows, it might just come true...

Quote 4:
Emmett: "Oooo, Scary."
Prediction: Emmett being sarcastic. lmao. I'm guessing he's having a confrontation with one of the werewolves or probably even one of the Denali vampires (if they turn out to be the antagonists in this book). There is also a possibility that he's teasing Edward, Bella, Alice or even Rosalie.

Quote 5:
Bella: “Jasper? What do vampires do for bachelor parties? You’re not taking him to a strip club, are you?"
Prediction: Aahhh... this quote is made of win. Well... there isn't much of a prediction to be made on this one coz it's pretty straightforward. Bella asks Jasper what the bachelor party is going to be mostly out of concern. I do predict the answer to this. Jasper would laugh (does he laugh? well... if he didn't, Emmett would. lmao) and tell Bella no. They'll probably take Edward out hunting or something. They wouldn't dare take Edward to a strip club. His virtue will be hurting before even going into the strip club.

Quote 6:
Charlie: “Bells, we’re up to bat.”
Prediction: Swans play baseball against the Cullens. lmao. Not likely. I'm pretty sure this has something to do with the wedding. Maybe it's time for dear old Charlie to walk Bella down that aisle. It can be for the wedding itself or even the rehearsal.

Quote 7:
Edward: “You’re awfully small to be so hugely irritating.”
Prediction: The first person I thought of when I read this was Alice. I recall Edward saying something like this about her in Eclipse. But considering the fact that the Volturi is still around which means there is a possibility that they'd be dropping by, Edward could also be talking to Jane (I wouldn't suggest it though. Remember what Jane did the last time?). My bet is on Alice though.

Quote 8:
Bella: “Why am I covered in feathers?”
Prediction: I totally went WTF?! on this one. But I'm guessing this is all Alice's fault. Vampire pillow fight, maybe? lmao.

Quote 9:
Alice: “No one will dare to call you plain when I’m through with you.”
Bella: “Only because they’re afraid you’ll suck their blood.”
Prediction: They're obviously arguing about how Bella's going to look at the wedding or even an engagement party (in case there would be one). Bella's worried she'd look plain next to the dazzling vampires. Alice is going to make her pretty.

Quote 10:
Edward: “Oops.”
Prediction: I love this quote. Edward, FTW! My guess is he's planning something for Bella but gets caught by her. Then he goes, "Oops."

Quote 11:
Renee: “Alice wouldn’t let us do anything else. Every time we tried, she all but ripped our throats out.”
Prediction: Yay! Renee is in town! lmao. Pretty straightforward like the rest of the quotes. Renee, Esme and maybe even Rosalie want to help plan the wedding but Alice doesn't want any of them ruining her fun.

Twilight Questionnaire

Somebody posted this on my Friendster account and I couldn't help but answer it. It's probably one of the signs that I'm so crazily obsessed with the series.

1. Which book in the series is your favorite?

- Twilight

2. How long did it take you to read the books?

- Let's see... It took two weeks for Twilight coz I was trying to pace myself. Trying is the key word there because when I got to the latter chapters, I didn't put it down until I was finished. For New Moon, I finished it in 8 hours coz I was speed reading through the Edward-less parts. Eclipse took two days only because I was trying to pace myself again. Totally unrelated but... the Host took me about three days coz I was bored in the first part of the book.

3. Who introduced you to the books?

- Robert Pattinson. lol. And my best friend, Wikipedia. I only read the book coz I heard about the movie and because RPattz is playing Edward.

4. Did you buy them, borrow them, or have them given to you as a gift?

- I bought all of them. Books are one of the few things I don't just download off the Internet.

5. Are you most looking forward to: Breaking Dawn, Midnight Sun, or the movie?

- Umm... at the moment, the movie (because of RPattz). A close second is Midnight Sun and a close third is Breaking Dawn. I'm annoyed with Bella's whining so I would prefer reading something in Edward's POV.

6. What's your dream ending to the series?

- Something that isn't like the ending to the HP series. I hate the way JK ended the series. I do wish that Bella and Edward can be together in the end but not everyone can have a happy ending (just ask Rosalie) and I don't want SM to force happy endings on every single character in the series. Which means... Lauren and Jessica should rot in hell. lol.

Favorites

1. Who is your favorite character?

- Edward fucking Cullen... Do I really need to explain?

2. Who's your favorite vampire?

- Edward, of course... with Alice as a close second.

3. Who is your favorite werewolf?

- Seth. Jacob and Leah are so annoying. Sam and Paul (?) are full of themselves. Quil and Embry are OK though.

4. What's one of your favorite quotes from the stories?

- There's too much and I can't really chose which is my favorite ONE among all of them. I'll try to do it per book though...
Twilight: "Mostly, I dream about being with you forever." or "If I could dream at all, it would only be about you."
New Moon: "My heart hasn't beat in 90 years but this was different. It was like my heart was gone like I was hollow. Like I'd left everything that was inside me here with you." but "I think she's having hysterics, maybe you should slap her." made me lol.

It's a long weekend and I have nothing better to do so I've been making a bunch of icons. I was just going to do a batch of pure Twilight ones but I kinda went overboard with all the brushes and bases and pictures that I've downloaded now and I'm going to end up doing a multi-fandom scary huge post.

EDIT: Okay... I just realized that I really did overdo the whole download images for icon stuff. I decided to abort my Matt Dallas icon mission because I don't even like that show that much since I haven't even finished watching season 1 and I haven't bothered to download the rest of the episodes that I've missed. I do find Matt Dallas as Kyle really cute though.

AND... this icon batch might take longer than it should. I'm already thinking of breaking it up into smaller batches but we'll see how it goes. I had an entire day off yesterday and I didn't even open my photoshop to work on a single icon. To all those who still have requests pending, don't worry... I'll do that first later when I get back from work. Then I have to get my act together to finish the rest of my multi-fandom post.

I'm posting this again coz I changed the layouting a bit. I also changed a bit of the rules.

Here's a new type of icon I'm currently making. candygirle actually gave me the idea of making the "Hello... my name is..." icons. At first, I only wanted to make icons that said "Hello. My name is *insert name here* and I'm intoxicated by Twilight." for anyone who wants them but I got an idea of making one for all the characters. I made one of each for all of the Cullens, Bella, Jacob and James. I also changed the lines around a bit so that they would seem like confessions from the characters themselves.

For the customized icons, I've made a bunch of templates. I tried to think of all the things that anyone would want on their icon and I managed to come up 40 (well... 39 actually coz the last one only says *whatever you want*) and they'll be available in 7 different colors (more if you hate my color choices. lol) It looks a lot like the samples above so... yeah. lol.

lol. I just wanted to update. I'm not writing about anything in particular because nothing really significant happened this week.

Well... one thing did... my mom is going to buy me an IPhone. I kinda used everything in my arsenal to get her to do that. I begged, I pouted, I even made her feel guilty. I stop at nothing when it comes to getting what I want and instead of arguing with me about it, she just gave up. I hope I get it soon though. I don't really care if the 3G IPhone is coming out soon coz I don't really mind just getting the regular IPhone (coz my cellphone service has crappy 3G service anyway).

And... that's it. Work mostly. I share a workstation with this girl. She's nice and all but she's friggin' annoying at times. She even calls me KatKat sometimes and it's damn annoying. Sometimes I just want to scream, "It's Kitty, damn it!". And... since my computer at work has been broken for about a week, I've been helping her with the things that she needs to do. And now, she just doesn't do the things that she's supposed to do and waits until I offer to do it. Good thing my computer is fixed now coz I can continue what I'm doing and I'll be too busy to help her and she'll have to do it. It's mean, I know... but I only offered to help her because our bosses were giving her more and more stuff to do and I felt bad for her. But really, if you spent most of your time talking to your husband on the phone than working, your work is bound to pile up on you. Oh... and don't even get me started on the time I made dessert once. She removed the friggin' mangoes. Those were the most expensive ingredients in the friggin' dessert and she removed the friggin' mangoes. Damn it... that's why it's called Mango Float... coz it's supposed to have mangoes in it. lol.

Okay... enough said. I think I'll go to bed now.

I'm working on a new batch of icons. I'm trying my hand at graphics so... this might be interesting. I'm working on a couple Gossip Girl episodes, some McFly pictures, some more confessions, some lyrics and some Twilight icons from the clip, the teaser and various appearances.

I'm also going to make the customized icons available in communities as well. I might do that tomorrow and the new batch would come on Sunday or on Monday.

AAAAAHHHHH!!!

Okay. Fan girl moment.

Edward... RPattz... so hot... I think I just died and went to heaven. And to think my day (the first 2 hours of it) didn't start out great. Now, I think I'm going to be on clound 9 for the rest of the day. *jumps up and down* I don't care if I'm already late for work. Robert and Cam are very convincing. I just wish Kristen was as convincing as they were but she's doing a considerably good job considering how much I hated her shrieky performance in Zathura (oh yeah... I totally watched that again just to see how well she could portray Bella). And... she wasn't given much camera time. Mostly it was just Cam and gorgeous Robert. I love the red carpet pics too...

I need Jasper to calm me down now.

Twilight Confessions Part 2

Here's the next batch of Twilight Confessions. It took a while... coz I'm kinda running low on creativity right now. But I decided to post what I have done so far.

I've added two new kinds of confessions... first is the Twilight Movie confessions... any confession related to the movie goes there...) and second is the Breaking Dawn confessions (SPOILERS GALORE! Consider yourself warned). Most of these confessions are related to the first chapter and I found an image on flickr that looked a lot like the cover of the book so if you don't want any spoilers, just skip that part of my post.

Also, I have a new kind of icons there. I haven't done much with those because I was concentrating on the confessions too much. I'll probably work on that for my next batch so that you guys wouldn't get too bored with my confessions.

I made a bunch of The Host related icons today. All of them are text icons. I was choosing between two fonts in the Team Jared and Team Ian ones so I just made one using each font but halfway through making them I realized that one of the fonts I was using didn't have the letter J so there is one Jared icon missing from the bunch.

I was quite bored today and I didn't really have much to do. And surprise, surprise... new sneak peek stuff for Twilight.

I noticed everybody was making one of Edward, Bella, one of the other Cullens or one of the nomads. And... shamelessly, I made a couple James icons. But... as I was scanning the screencaps (thanks to the wonderful janine83 for the screencaps coz I'm too lazy to make my own), I decided to make icons for the unsung heroes behind our soon to be favorite movie. Namely Catherine and the crew of Twilight...

I was actually meaning to do a couple of Edward, Bella and the rest of the Cullens. I also have a bunch of text icons that I want to do. In fact, I already have 100+ written down but still haven't done because I procrastinate so they aren't done yet. I was going to wait until I finish all of those before I post these but I got too excited.

Anyway, here they are... James, Catherine and Floating Apple Guy.
